This book was a little too far fetched for me. All they did was fight battles with beasts of mythical proportions. As someone who has spent most of his life outdoors among these animals and hunting them, I know this is just silliness. Book 1 was much more believable, more possible and less mystical.Product details

Kept me turning pages until late in the night. I also learned a lot of interesting historical facts. Recommend to anyone who loves adventure.
Sequel to The Great Sioux Trail and one of my favorites in Jr. High School 70 years ago. A real pleasure to find it and read it once more. Joseph Altsheler was one of the great authors of his time.
Good book, easy reading.. you learn Indian words for our English words. at times the book seems long
and drawn out, but other times it keeps you spell bound. It has a surprise ending I didn't see coming.
The funniest part of the book is where the young brave (actually the white man) gets caught in the eye
of a bear while he is bathing in the lake.. of course his clothes are on the bank side next to the bear.
It's a good book. Enjoy.
